Wonder what other moon shot projects are going on in other parts of the globe?

Evolution - Was human born at one central location?

Reflecting on a program on Science channel, wondering...

Is human race confirmed to have originated from Africa?
If it is evolution as random process, could it have happened in "parallel" (say) at multiple locations?
Is there evidence that it happened at one central location and then proliferated geographically?
